I live a few miles from the climb at my horse farm and use it as a training segment. Not too long and not too short with just enough grade. Some of the times on Strava up it are insane. Excellent write up. I will look forward to your article on chandler mountain climb by horse pens 40. IMO a much tougher climb in my neck of the woods.

Thanks Rick... its a great climb and a rewarding view form the top! I remember my first climb up Walker Gap was for the BBC Mountain Goat Ultra Century. You arrive at the bottom of the climb at about 80+ miles into the ride... and it was a very hot day that year. I wasn't mentally prepared for the challenge, but worked my way up, stopping in the middle to catch my breath. I had a few cars ask if i needed help! (… makes one feel old!? Ha!) It was exhilarating to complete the climb and see the view from the top. Well worth the effort. Thanks for sharing!
