It turns out that lessons learned as a mediocre bike racer translate well to life. Stick to the plan; choose your mistakes; and it's better to do things than not do things.
Wish I would take time to write up about my races. It would help me to remember mistakes made and what went right. Here’s a secret about the “ponds”. Blast through the puddles. They all have hard bottoms. Sure your brakes will make a little noise but you’ll make better time.
I love reading about your adventures and love your perspective on things! Maybe I can be your support crew for one of these races. I mix up a mean electrolyte cocktail.
Any speed indeed.

That’s a great tip. Next year… and I wouldn’t want to be behind someone blasting through them!
Great job on the race and great insight on your thought process for your race plan.

Thanks Brian… be careful about what you volunteer for!
